Instructions
for Use
From
the Hpac Welcome Screen select a database to view by clicking its
title button.
Searches
are carried out using keywords which are stored in an hierarchical
three level structure, the keywords are selected from the drop down
list adjacent to the Level1/2/3 field names. When the keyword has
been selected click on Search to view the matching images.
Searches
can be carried out on more than one keyword, these are selected
as above but the keywords must be separated by clicking the And
/ Or buttons. For example to do a search on Agriculture or Architecture
first select Agriculture from the level 1 list, click the or button
then select Architecture from the level 1 list. The keywords box
will now display Agriculture Or Architecture, click on Search to
display the records matching those keywords. Carry out the same
procedure for doing and searches but click the "And" button
rather than the Or button. Keywords may be typed directly into the
keyword box but always ensure that each keyword is separated by
And / Or.
To
do a search on keywords from other levels first select the level
1 keyword, click on the "And" or Or button
then select a keyword from level 2. Searches may be done on multiple
keywords but always ensure that the keywords are separated by the
And / Or operators.
Searches
may be done by typing keywords directly into the keywords box then
clicking on Search. As with searches from the keyword levels keywords
must be separated by And / Or. Searching on the Keywords field works
on the 'Within' principle so searching on Boat will bring up words
such as lifeboat, lifeboat men etc.
Clicking
on Search will display the thumbprint images matching the selected
keywords. Click on Zoom to enlarge the images, click on hi-res to
view the high resolution images (if available). Click on Add to
Order to order a copy of the image. Click on Order to send an email
of your order.
This
software has been designed to run on Internet Explorer v5.5 and
Netscape Navigator 4.73, using earlier versions may result in problems
viewing images and text.
